Becoming a Supple Leopard
Kelly Starrett hit a home run with this book. “Becoming a Supple Leopard” is perfect for physiotherapist, athletes, parents, and children can learn everything they need to keep themselves injury free. If you are looking how to perform highly technical movements in Crossfit, understand the mechanics of a squat, or sit and stand better – then this book is for you!
I appreciate the glossary of different mobility and stretching exercises with a self-diagnosis template. “Becoming a Supple Leopard” allows people to learn more about their body and what makes it break down. It was one of the first books of its kind that gave the power back to the people. If you are tired of being injured, in pain, or are looking to improve your daily performance – look no further, your book has arrived. We can be the best physio to ourselves, but this is only possible if we learn our body. We are the most sophisticated machine out there. Unfortunately, we do not have an “owners manual” on how to use it. Let “Becoming a Supple Leopard” be your owners manual.
I continue to use this book as the primary reference for my interns and students. For me, the book was a validation of my thought process regarding the human body. It is by far the best text written for anyone to understand the complex, yet the simple process of how the body works.
“You hate to cultivate the mindset that anything that is not a braced neutral spinal position is probably going to kill you.”
